Over the past few weeks, the US Cooperative for International Patient Programs (USCIPP), NCHL team has been supporting an ongoing, collaborative effort led by Northwestern Medicine, the Ukrainian Medical Association of North America, and the International Trade Administration of the US Department of Commerce to help arrange for the donation of humanitarian aid to Ukraine in the form of medical supplies and equipment. We recently received photos of a plane arriving in Europe fully loaded with donated medical supplies and medications, most of which were provided by NCHL program members.
As we continue to see the scenes of unspeakable cruelty and widespread violence being unleashed on innocent civilians, NCHL would like to recognize the organizations that have kindly offered to donate to the relief efforts. While the task force was not able to accept supplies from each organization that offered—donations of critical medications, for example, are being prioritized over things like PPE—most donations were ultimately accepted and have either already been sent to Europe or are in the process of being prepared for shipment.
We thank you for your leadership, generosity, and demonstration of international goodwill during this challenging time.
